CMHI is the largest public port operator in China with investments in Mainland China, Hong Kong and overseas. In addition to the container terminal business, CMHI is also proactively developing value-added marine logistics services relating to the port industry, which include the Bonded Logistics Park in Shenzhen, Qingdao and Tianjin with total bonded warehouse of about 400,000 square meters. 

CMHI strives to find its position in new business areas by establishing China Merchants Americold Logistics Company Limited (CMAC) jointly with Americold Realty Trust to operate an integrated nationwide cold-chain platform in China. 

In the trip to Shekou, the western Shenzhen Port , you are going to visit  Shekou Container Terminals (SCT)  which strategically located at the estuary of the Pearl River and is a prominent transportation gateway for both international and domestic cargo owners and carriers who seek for the most effective access to and out of the South China hinterland.

You will be able to understand the operation taking place in SCT and its initiatives in barge connection with the Pearl River system, environmental and green port development and security measures that differentiates SCT with other players in the region.

Also you are going to visit QianHaiWan Free Trade Port (QHWFTP) operates by China Merchants Maritime Logistics (CMML). You will be able to understand what is the advantageous operating environment developed by CMML under the most favourable policy being granted by the State Council of China to QHWFTP and how it matches latest business needs of international and domestic shippers, consolidators, freight forwarders.

Overall you are able to get ideas of how the synergy is working out under CMHI container terminal and terminal related business in Shekou and how you can position your business model to gain the benefit from it.
