Dr Simon Su is the Director and Chief Economist of BMT Asia Pacific Ltd, a subsidiary of BMT Group – a leading international multi-disciplinary business strategy, sustainability, economics, development, operation, engineering, science and technology consultancy offering a broad range of services, particularly in the transportation, logistics, port and maritime sectors.

With more than 16 years' industry and research experience in port and transportation consulting industries, Dr Su leads BMT's regional branch's Investment and Transport Solutions team to support multinationals, governments, investors and leading corporations with state-of-the-art strategic advice, innovative thinking and effective solutions.

Dr Su has been involved in many high-profile studies in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, UK, USA, Germany, Netherland, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, UAE, Lebanon, Mauritius and Nigeria. Key studies include:

Dr Su holds a PhD in Economics from University College London, an MBA from Imperial College London and an MSc in Economics from Warwick University of the UK. Dr Su is also an EEP graduate from Harvard University. He is a committee member of the Shipping and Transport Committee, the China Committee, and the Economic Policy Committee of Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC). Dr Su has published in several international journals and magazines, including many articles on port and logistics industry and on the impact of China’s WTO accession.
